From Southwest Florida International Airport: Follow Terminal Access Road out of the airport, and turn right onto Treeline Avenue Extension. Continue on Treeline Avenue for approximately 2.5 miles, and turn left onto Daniels Parkway. Drive under the I-75 overpass, and continue straight ahead, crossing US-41 to Summerlin Road. Turn left onto Summerlin, and continue 10 miles to the Sanibel Causeway ($6 bridge toll). Cross the causeway, and turn right at the four-way stop. This is Periwinkle Way. Proceed on Periwinkle 0.6 miles to Donax. Turn left onto Donax, and continue to the stop sign. Turn right onto Middle Gulf Drive. Follow Middle Gulf Drive through the S-curve (turning left at the fork, and right at the stop sign).

J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge
The J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge is located on the subtropical barrier island of Sanibel in the Gulf of Mexico. The refuge is part of the largest undeveloped mangrove ecosystem in the United States. It is world famous for its spectacular migratory bird populations. J. N. "Ding" Darling is one of over 540 refuges in the National Wildlife Refuge System administered by the U. S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
